Machine Operator

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Level 1 CNC Machine Operator to join our production team. If you have 1 to 2 years of basic shop floor experience and want to transition into a true machining career, this is your footing. You will be responsible for loading raw materials, running production cycles on CNC vertical mills and lathes, and utilizing precision measurement tools to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications. This role focuses heavily on production consistency, visual quality inspection, and basic tool tracking. You do not need to know how to program from scratch—we will provide the training and blueprints; we just need your mechanical aptitude, reliability, and drive to learn. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Production Runs: Safely load, cycle, and unload CNC Mills and Lathes to maintain steady production volumes. Quality Inspection: Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, digital calipers, and go/no-go gauges) to audit parts against blueprints. Process Adjustments: Monitor tool wear and perform basic tool offset adjustments under the guidance of a senior setup machinist. Shop Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workstation, clear chips safely, and ensure coolant levels are properly balanced. Documentation: Track production counts, log dimensions on inspection sheets, and flag machine faults or edge-wear immediately to leadership. What We Are Looking For (Job Requirements) Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machinery (Mills or Lathes) in a manufacturing environment. Measurement Literacy: Proven ability to comfortably read standard calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Blueprint Basics: Ability to look at a basic engineering print or shop drawing and identify target dimensions. Reliability: A track record of solid attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Physical Ability: Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and safely lift up to 50 lbs as required by raw material loading.
