Mechanical Assembler 2nd Shift
Wind Turbine Power Transmission AssemblerPerforms assembly of wind turbine power transmissions and their subassemblies. Works from blue prints, parts lists and assembly cards. Uses parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, hand and power tools. Will shim and final assemble gear units. Can work alone, with other assemblers, and oversees lower grade assemblers. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Necessary Prior Experience:Basic knowledge of leanGeneral shop safety trainingShop computersParts washer useCrane operation and safetyProper use of chains, shackles, and strapsOven or induction heaters operation and useHydraulic torque wrench use including torque specificationsProper loctite use (sealants)Measuring equipment use (mic's, veneres, etc.)Knowledge of bearingsEducational Requirements:A combination of formal education, training and experience to acquire knowledge and skills generally equivalent to those possessed by an experienced high school graduate.
