Overview of Position
The Lead Cook/Kitchen Manager is a critical role that ensures that the wine bar kitchen operations are managed effectively and efficiently. We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player to continually enhance our food program. In this role you will work closely with food distributors and vendors. You will be in charge of maintaining kitchen operations, managing kitchen staff, and overseeing the menu with full creative control. You will ensure food inventory levels and recipes are managed appropriately and kept up to date in the inventory management system. You will responsible for food pricing and managing food costs within budget. You will work closely with the owner, bar GM, the Event Sales manager, and bar staff.
Job Requirements
Staff management experience: hiring, training, scheduling, supervising & motivating staff
Experience managing people
Operations & workflow experience: daily food prep, ensuring consistency, speed & presentation
Inventory & costs experience: managing inventory, ordering, controlling food waste, monitoring labor & food cost
Food safety & sanitation experience: enforce health codes, proper food storage & monitor equipment
Strong verbal and written communicator
Functional knowledge of Square POS and MarketMan Inventory system
Experience developing menu items
Experience with event catering and pricing
Possess all required food handling permits
Proactive in issue resolution

$60,000 - $70,000 per year
