Steel Erector Superintendent (Southern Constructors)Position SummaryThe Steel Erector Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all field operations related to structural steel erection projects. This role provides leadership to field crews, coordinates daily jobsite activities, and ensures work is performed safely and efficiently, and maintains project schedules, quality standards, and customer expectations. Superintendent serves as the primary point of contact on the job site and works closely with project management, contractors, and field personnel to successfully complete projects.Key Responsibilities· Supervise and coordinate structural steel erection crews and subcontractors· Plan and manage daily field operations, manpower, equipment, and material requirements.· Review project drawings, specifications, and erection plans to ensure proper execution.·Supervise and coordinate structural steel & pre-engineered metal building erection crews and subcontractors.· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and jobsite requirements.· Coordinate crane operations, rigging activities, and steel installation sequencing.· Monitor project progress and maintain production schedules.· Communicate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and vendors.· Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and scheduling challenges.· Conduct job site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.· Maintain daily reports, jobsite documentation, communication with management, and other project documentation.· Mentor and develop foremen and field employees.· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.Qualifications· Minimum 5 years of structural steel erection experience, with supervisory experience preferred.· Strong knowledge of structural steel erection practices, rigging, crane operations, and jobsite safety requirements.· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills· Ability to coordinate multiple crews and priorities in a fast-paced environment.· Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
