Territory Sales Manager
An established equipment dealership is adding a Regional Sales Manager to support continued growth and increased market share across Upstate New York. This is an expansion role designed to put more boots on the ground in a territory where the company has been active for more than two decades and continues to see strong opportunity.This position is ideal for a relationship-driven, field-oriented sales professional who enjoys being on job sites and building long-term customer partnerships. You will inherit a small existing book of business while being responsible for growing the territory through repeat business, referrals, and consultative selling.Responsibilities:Own and grow an assigned sales territory through a true outside, field-based sales approachSpend the majority of time in the field (approximately 70–80%) conducting job site visits, customer meetings, and equipment demonstrationsSell a broad mix of new and used equipment, attachments, rentals, and support solutionsInherit and manage a small existing book of accounts while expanding it through relationship-building and repeat businessProvide consultative guidance on machine selection, specifications, attachments, and applications based on customer needsDevelop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve revenue, growth, and market share goalsAttend industry expos, trade shows, and customer events as assignedGather market and customer feedback to support sales strategy, marketing efforts, and product alignmentCollaborate with internal teams including marketing, rentals, service, and parts to deliver a full-solution approachStay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and regional market conditionsQualifications:Proven outside sales experience within the heavy equipment, construction, forestry, or rental industryStrong track record of territory growth through relationship-based sellingExperience selling a mix of new equipment, used equipment, attachments, and/or rentalsAbility to conduct job site visits, product demos, and technical discussions with customersStrong communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsSelf-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a territory like a businessWillingness to travel extensively within the assigned region and attend industry eventsValid driver’s license and ability to work in a physically active, field-based environmentThis role offers the opportunity to join a well-established organization with a strong regional reputation, deep product offerings, and a long-term commitment to customer relationships and employee success.
