The Center for Academic Achievement at A-B Tech supports student success by providing academic support services across a wide range of courses, programs, and disciplines. The Center offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can seek assistance, build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and connect with resources that support their educational goals. Services may include tutoring, academic coaching, writing support, study assistance, and other student success initiatives delivered in-person and virtually.
The Center for Academic Achievement's administrative assistant acts as a key representative of the Center by greeting visitors, assisting students in accessing services, supporting scheduling and tutor assignment processes, and helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations. The administrative assistant is responsible for managing schedules, supporting student intake and sign-in processes, maintaining records, and assisting with communication and coordination related to Center services. This position requires strong organizational and computer skills, and a warm, welcoming demeanor to effectively serve students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Duties
Greet students and visitors to determine their needs and connect them with appropriate services and resources.
Manage paperwork, records, digital logs, waitlists, referrals, and other documentation associated with Center services.
Assist students with scheduling appointments for tutoring, academic support, and related services both in-person and over the phone.
Support students experiencing technical difficulties during virtual appointments or while accessing Center services.
Assist students with printing and general technology support as needed.
Coordinate outreach and follow-up communication with students referred to Center services.
Identify student needs and assist with connecting students to appropriate tutors, staff, or resources.
Represent the Center for Academic Achievement during campus events, tours, presentations, and classroom visits.
Collaborate with Center leadership on scheduling, marketing, data collection, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree.
Skilled interpersonal communicator.
Advanced computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience in customer service, tutoring, and/or higher education.
Experience with a learning management systems (LMS) and/or scheduling software.
Ability to multitask, troubleshoot technical problems, and maintain organization across disparate systems.
Comfortable conducting presentations and public speaking engagements.
