Company DescriptionEquine Advocates is a national non-profit organization. We focus our work on rescue, sanctuary, education, and advocacy. Our equine sanctuary in Chatham, New York, is home to 80+ rescued and retired horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules. We are seeking applicants who have compassion for animals.Horse Farm Worker – Full-Time PositionDuties include (Training, if needed, will be provided):• Cleaning stalls and pastures. Installing new bedding as instructed.• Feeding grain and distributing hay.• Cleaning and refilling water troughs.• Mowing grass, weed whacking, raking leaves, and shoveling snow.• Walking horses to/from the Main Barn as needed.• Helping repair/install fencing.• Doing other facility work as needed.Position requirements:• Must be dependable and a self-starter.• Valid driver’s license.Physical demands:• Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and walk for long periods of time.Hourly rate/Work schedule:• $18-$19 per hour• 6-day work week/off Wednesdays. Generally, 40 hours per week.
