Our Client is proud to offer this exciting new role, Manager Finance & Accounting. Based in Indianapolis, the position will oversee finance and accounting for The Company’s Detroit based logistics Business Unit.The selected individual will be tasked with creating and leading the 3PL Business Unit’s field control function, including being responsible for providing consultative support to guide and facilitate strategic business objectives. Also, they will drive the financial planning and analysis function in accordance with Venture’s core values. Daily interactions with senior management are highly coveted characteristics of this role.The Manager Finance & Accounting will also have wide latitude to employ best practices regarding their areas of influence and will work closely with all departments of the company. The client offers a fast-paced environment with a regional market leadership position that should be highly appealing to a driven and entrepreneurial professional who seeks a challenging role where they can demonstrably impact company customer success.Responsibilities· Oversee reporting framework to ensure optimal business decisions support:§ Prepare monthly operating reports and weekly dashboards to review with management.§ Review existing reporting with executives and modify reporting to reflect how management evaluates Company performance.§ When needed, design reporting to provide data to effectively manage the business.§ Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance.§ Assist in resolving IC, Vendor and other related party disputes.§ Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.· Ensure execution of month-end and quarter-end close & variance analysis:§ Ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all Business Unit transactions.§ Analyze financial results, including trends, budget, forecast and related variances.§ Review trends and drivers of financial performance to identify opportunities for improvement of business areas.§ Prepare for and participate in board meeting presentations.· Manage the investment and capital expenditure analysis:§ Assist the Chief Financial Officer in evaluating capital expenditure request.§ Support operations in producing ROI to business case modeling.§ Understand accounting and operations for potential investment opportunities.§ Understand and develop the capital expenditure strategy.· Lead the budgeting and forecasting process:§ Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts with input from senior executives.§ Maintain ownership of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow financial model.§ Perform additional high-profile ad-hoc analyses and decision support as required.§ Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.Qualifications· 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting or senior analyst role.· Expert level skill with Excel, its total functionality and robust financial modeling skills.· Experience in the logistics industry or with OEM’s extremely helpful, but not required.· Demonstrable strong analytical mindset and ability to make confident, fact-based decisions.· Capable of working independently and as part of a team.· Facile at working with and managing upwards to gain information.· Proven ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous projects.· Strong interpersonal style including excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Ability to forecast issues to understand potential impact both internally and externally.· Ability to work well in high pressure situations to meet deadlines.· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; ability to work with large datasets.· A strong, hands-on knowledge of financial reporting and general accounting work.
