DescriptionPosition Title: DriverReports To: Social Services DirectorEmployment Status: Full-TimePosition Status: EssentialDepartment: Social ServicesFLSA Status: Non-ExemptGENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Driver will be responsible for transporting clients to apartment viewings and appointments with various agenciesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES• Transport clients to permanent housing, apartment viewings, and other appointments• Assists families with moving in and out of facilities• Assist with loading and unloading the van with the Maintenance Department for each facility• Operates facility vans on all type of road ways• Must communicate with Program Director on whereabouts on a daily basis• Must answer phone calls when called (unless driving)• Visually inspect the interior and exterior of the vehicle on a daily basis• Must make sure that it is clean at all time• Must ensure van is in excellent working condition (i.e. making sure the vehicle has enough gas, keeping up with oil changes, making sure brakes are working properly)• Must ensure that the vehicle is taken to proper inspections and that registration is up to date• Must ensure that the E-ZPass is adhered properly and is reading correctly when going through tolls• Will be held accountable for operator's Motor Vehicle Traffic Violations• In the event of an emergency, essential employees are required to report to work as scheduled• Duties and responsibilities subject to change based upon assessment of company needsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS• High School Diploma or equivalent is required• Must have a valid Driver's License which passes a license record check• One year of experience in Transportation Services preferred• Must be able to interact effectively with facility staff, client population and administration (verbally and in writing)• Must be capable of heavy lifting at least 50 lbs.• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
