Apply via Dice today!Job Title: Server AdministratorLocation: FloridaDuration: 6 Months+Job Description:The Server Admin is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's server infrastructure. The Server Admin ensures the servers are secure, reliable, and optimized to meet the organization's computing needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Install, configure, and maintain servers, including web servers, email servers, file servers, and database serversPlan and implement server backups and disaster recovery proceduresMonitor server performance and capacity utilization, and troubleshoot server issuesConfigure and manage server security settings, including firewall rules and access control listsPerform regular system updates and patch managementCreate and maintain user accounts, groups, and permissionsManage storage devices and RAID arraysMonitor network traffic and performanceGenerate reports on server activity and performanceAutomation and scripting, Windows Domain Admin, Active Directory Admin.Track user account creation, changes, and deletions.Evaluating proposed software and Windows configuration functional and non-functional requirements for impact to existing information systems.Developing and implementing maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures, and security baselines.Providing analytical and technical security recommendations to other team members, oversight organizations, and stakeholders to help specify security requirements.Providing risk analysis for vulnerabilities, incidents, and change requests.Providing recommendations related to the design, development, and integration of automated software and hardware solutions.SPECIAL SKILLS:Understanding of complex virtualization environment. Must be able to design, configure, and deploy physical and virtual servers and storage arrays. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity best practices. Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple projects, ability to handle large customer needs/request volumes, familiarity with current generation Windows/Apple OS/devices, Microsoft 365 suite, experience with support desk platforms and project tracking tools.REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS:Valid State of Florida Driver s License and Motor Vehicle Record license will be screened prior to employment.Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and VMware Certified Advanced Professional Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV 2020 (Design or Deploy) or newer).VMWare Certified Design Expert Data Center Virtualization (VCDX-DCV 2020 or newer), Training or Professional Experience and/or certifications in other Microsoft Server products, Dell, EMC are strongly preferred.
