Hospitalist Physician OpportunityBrattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital in scenic southeastern Vermont, is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join its collaborative and mission-driven medical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.The Hospitalist Physician will:Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and dischargesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditionsDeliver evidence-based, patient-centered careCollaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, Emergency Medicine physicians, and ancillary servicesCoordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of careOrder, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studiesDocument all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes thoroughly and timely in the EMRRespond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situationsProvide ventilator managementParticipate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetingsEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up careParticipate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluationsEnsure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and medical ethicsNo procedures requiredWork with specialty backup including surgeons (for central lines), respiratory therapy, EM physicians, and CRNAsNot open to candidates who commute more than 1 hourNot accepting visa candidatesNot open to LOcum or LOcum to PERM candidatesNot open to candidates who plan to work this job in conjunction with another positionCompensation and Benefits:Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000 annuallyCompensation determined based on experience, education, board certification, internal equity, and market factorsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plan with employer contributionPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysContinuing Medical Education (CME) allowance and paid CME timeMalpractice insurance coverageLife and disability insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Relocation assistance (if applicable)J1 visa sponsorship support availableRequirements:MD or DO from accredited medical school – [REQUIRED]Board Certified or Board Eligible (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) – [REQUIRED]Active Vermont Medical License – [REQUIRED]DEA (must be obtained prior to start) – [REQUIRED] * no exemptionsBLS Certification – [REQUIRED]ACLS Certification – [REQUIRED]Ventilator management experience – [REQUIRED]Experience running codes – [REQUIRED]2–3 years Hospitalist experience – [HIGHLY PREFERRED]Rural health experience – [HIGHLY PREFERRED]Clean Malpractice History – [REQUIRED]Does provider require any visa support? – [REQUIRED]Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) – [REQUIRED] * no exemption, required at presentationPermanent Placement Fee $25K (note in "Additional Submission Details" field) – [REQUIRED]
