JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary: Provides direct instruction, adaptive materials, and consultative support to students with visual impairments to facilitate their compensation for a sensory deficit and to access the academic curriculum Essential Functions: Provide instruction in Unified English Braille (UEB) Nemeth Code, visual discrimination, and other areas specific to students with visual impairments Knowledge of Neurological Visual Impairments and facilitation techniques to support visual access Provide instruction in use of specialized technology, (computer keyboarding, Braille, digital resources) Provide instruction in the expanded Common Core Curriculum Provide instruction in evaluations (Functional Vision Evaluation/Learning Media Assessment) and training for assistive devices. Supervisory Responsibility: No direct supervisory responsibilities. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 193-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours are dependent on the needs of the districts. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel:Travelis dependent on the assignment within Bucks County and is reimbursed in accordance with IRS guidelines and rates
