This role verifies job specifications, gathers inks, plates, cylinders, and related tooling, and ensures all components are accurate, complete, and press-ready prior to production. The Prepress Setup Technician works closely with press operators, prepress, and production planning teams to maintain workflow efficiency, uphold quality standards, and support on-time job completion. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of flexographic printing materials and processes are essential for success in this position.Job SnapshotFull-time, day shift (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday)Based at our Morristown, Tennessee facilityCompetitive pay with shift differentials and bonusesFull benefits package starting after 30 days of full month employmentOn-demand pay access through DailyPaySafety equipment and allowances providedWhat You'll Be DoingEnsure compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.Actively participate in EHS, training, safety observations, hazard identification, and safety committees.Foster, develop, and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities through all facets of the business.Ensure a proactive approach to product quality, GMP's, and quality of workmanship.Assemble Copy Folders/MOs/Plates/ProofsGathering all die tooling per copy folderMounting printing plates to print cylindersSupplying ink, which includes ink coverage calculation and mixing ink when neededPerform ink room functions, ink mixing, inventory trackingUtilizing tools to measure colorDevelop printing plates for all presses as neededOrganize plate storage area for narrow web and wide webUtilize all equipment in the plate room including wide web plate mounterReview all press schedules daily and provide all job set up carts in the order neededWhat You'll BringHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferredTwo-year technical degree preferredTwo or more years' printing experience preferredGood mechanical abilityAbility to use rulers, gauges, calipers, and other testing equipment.Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to working with moving equipmentEffective communications and interpersonal skills to work as a team memberAbility to work independently and make good decisions without constant supervisionWell-developed work habits to ensure smooth machine operation and minimal downtimeProficiency with computers; ability to learn and use additional programsAbility to distinguish differences between finished product compared to product specificationsAbility to identify maintenance needs and ensure that all required preventive maintenance is performedAbility to lift products up to 50 lbs. and some over that amountAbility to stoop, bend, crouch, extend, lean, and maneuver around equipment at varying heights.Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.What We OfferCompetitive wage with shift differentialsQuarterly performance bonusesPaid time offFull benefits effective 30 days after full month, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability 401(k) matchChoose Your Shoes safety shoe allowancePrescription safety glass allowanceAll safety equipment providedOn-demand pay access through DailyPayWho We AreIconex is the original inventor of the receipt and a global leader in labeling and tracking technologies.
