Network Engineer (On call)
Scope of WorkHardware Installation & DeploymentDeploy Smart Hands network engineers for onsite installation of Cisco Meraki switches and APC UPS units.Assess and document existing switches, UPS units, and rack environments.Coordinate scheduled downtime to minimize business disruption.Install and physically validate new hardware within existing rack infrastructure.Ensure proper cabling, labeling, and rack organization.Provide installation confirmation with photographic documentation and installation checklist.Device configuration, firmware, backups, and software setup remain outside the installation scope.Network Cutover & Legacy Hardware RemovalProvide onsite support during network cutover and validation activities.Assist with troubleshooting and transition support during migration.Validate operational status and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).Disconnect, remove, and relocate legacy switches, UPS units, and related hardware.Deliver cutover reports, decommissioning inventory, and post-cutover photographs.DeliverablesInstallation checklist and validation reportSerial number and hardware inventoryRack installation photographs (before/after)UPS validation recordsCutover support reportUAT completion documentationDecommissioning inventoryPost-cutover photographic documentationAssumptions & DependenciesAll hardware must be delivered onsite and ready prior to installation.Configuration, firmware updates, backups, licensing, and remote access setup are client responsibilities.Adequate rack space, site access, and safe working conditions must be available before deployment.Delays caused by missing hardware, access restrictions, or site readiness issues may impact project timelines and additional charges may apply.
