POSITION TITLE: Instructional Teacher / Dean of Student ConductDEPARTMENT: Intermediate SchoolREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalFLSA STATUS: Certified-ExemptSALARY SCHEDULE: Certified Staff + $6000 stipendPOSITION SCHEDULE: 9-month2026-2027 Contract Dates are in accordance with the school calendarPosition SummaryThe Instructional Teacher / Dean of Student Conduct serves in a dual capacity: providing quality classroom instruction and acting as a leadership presence responsible for promoting positive student behavior and school culture. For approximately ½ the day, this position supports the administration by managing student behavior, supervising common areas, and issuing discipline in accordance with district policy. This hybrid role provides a foundational administrative experience and fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and support at the Intermediate School.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesInstructional Duties - approximately ½ day (but may vary)Design and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with Missouri Learning Standards and district curriculum.Create a classroom environment that promotes learning, engagement, and respect.Monitor and assess student performance and differentiate instruction as needed.Maintain communication with families regarding academic and behavioral progress.Collaborate with colleagues through PLCs, staff meetings, and professional development.Dean of Student Conduct Duties - approximately ½ day (but may vary)Serve as the primary disciplinarian for minor and moderate behavior infractions during designated periods.Investigate incidents, conduct student conferences, and determine appropriate discipline under the student handbook.Administer detentions and in-school suspensions, and recommend out-of-school suspensions to the principal as necessary.Supervise high-traffic areas such as hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, and arrival/dismissal zones.Maintain detailed records of disciplinary actions, behavior referrals, and parent communications.Collaborate with school counselors and administration on behavior intervention plans academic, and discipline plans.Support attendance initiatives, including student check-ins and engagement follow-up.Additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent/DesigneeSUPERVISORY DUTIESStudent supervision and disciplineRequired QualificationsValid Missouri Administrator Certificate.Valid Missouri Teaching CertificateMaster's degree in Educational AdministrationExperience: 3 or more years of successful teaching required.
