You’ll be accountable for directing, overseeing and being in responsible charge of technical quality of challenging engineering tasks in accordance with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.Working with a team of project managers, engineers, and support staff you will provide structural engineering services for electrical generation and transmission projects.Here’s What You’ll NeedWe are seeking an innovative Senior Structural Engineer to help us deliver electrical transmission and generation projects in North America for utilities and private developers.Structural engineering services range from conceptual through final design, including coordination of general structural plans, foundations designs, rigid bus systems design, oil containment structures design, general substation overhead and other ancillary structures design, related permitting applications, specifications, coordination with other disciplines, and quantity takeoffs. #epjobs #naepjobsTHIS ROLE CAN SIT AT ANY OF OUR JACOBS OFFICE LOCATIONS NATIONWIDEHere's what you'll needBachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university.Licensed Professional Engineer preferred10+ years of experience in structural engineering preferably for electrical utility clients, including one or more of the following facility types electrical substation, transmission and distribution, thermal generation.Experience in structural engineering aspects of utility projects. Focus on design of structures typically used within an electrical substation and/or related energy infrastructureProficient in structural analysis tools such as Mathcad, RISA, STAAD, STAAD Foundation, RISA3D, RISA Foundation, LPile, etc.Responsibilities Will IncludeWork effectively with multi-disciplinary global project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.Contributing to a learning environment, support fellow engineers, with the opportunity to offer mentoring, be mentored and take advantage of career development opportunitiesSupporting the team to instill an inclusive culture that values diversity of thought and lives Jacobs’ Culture of Caring.Provide technical direction and review of designs developed by intermediate and entry level engineersReview existing client standards for incorporation into program and project deliveryReview designs for cost-saving opportunities and consistencies in designDevelop conceptual designs and Scopes of Work for projects undergoing regulatory approvalsRespond to contractor requests for information RFIAttend and participate in project pre-bid meetingsPerform a technical review of bids received and make recommendations on most qualified bidAttend construction kickoff meetingsLead constructability meetings with construction oversight teamGuide the project through the engineering activities in the stage gate processReview As built drawings and approve them when finalizedOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
