Job DescriptionCreates zoning, historic, annexation, and other maps using data and geographic information. Generates addressing plats and updates street name list and range maps.Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Generates addressing plats utilizing Geographic Information Systems and drawing tools.Updates street name list by comparing the new subdivision plats versus the GIS data and existing plats.Performs technical duties in the maintenance, development, and operation of the geographic information systems.Creates, maintains, and edits departmental shape files and layers.Prepares a variety of analysis of electronic information, including the preparation of multi-layered and linked maps and tabular data; prepares graphic materials and assists staff in interpreting the results.Ensures the quality and accuracy of a variety of geographic information system data, including researching and revising maps and data from other data sources.
