Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, the company has a corporate office in Atlanta and regional offices in Dallas, Denver, Jacksonville, Miami, and Washington DC.The Vice President, Risk Management and Insurance is responsible for overseeing all corporate and venture level insurance programs and identifying and mitigating risk associated with the company's portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this position works directly with insurance brokers, insurance carriers, lenders, and equity partners to ensure the company maintains appropriate insurance coverage while delivering value to our investors.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures.Oversee all aspects of corporate insurance programs, including property, liability, environmental, workers' compensation insurance, etc.Manage insurance claims from intake through resolution, and coordinate third party adjusters, legal counsel, and other parties on efficient claim resolution.Manage all insurance renewals, including negotiation of coverage and evaluation of service providers, and retention of documentation.Serve as subject matter expert on risk management, insurance, and claim related matters, providing guidance and support to colleagues.Provide guidance and training to property managers on best practices.Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and adjust strategies as needed.Communicate risk management strategies, findings, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.Understand insurance requirements in existing loan and joint venture agreements, track and ensure compliance.Review new contracts and legal agreements to ensure appropriate mitigation of risk to the company.Set standard contract language for use in tenant and vendor agreements.Stay informed of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management.RequirementsBachelor's degree in risk management or insurance preferred; finance or other business degrees acceptable.Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation preferred.7+ years of proven experience in risk management in commercial real estate.Thorough understanding of owner and property manager risk and insurance exposures.Proficiency in reviewing legal contracts, property management agreements, and various service, vendor, and tenant lease agreements.Benefits:We offer a competitive benefits package, including:Unlimited vacation, summer Fridays, and 9 company holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceCompany-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insuranceVoluntary insurance including supplemental life insurance, pet insurance, critical illness, accident, hospital, legal, and cancer insurance.401(k) with company match
