Senior Director, Commercial Strategy
Job ResponsibilitiesStartup and Spinout Formation - Leads the venture creation, external partnership, and business innovation activities of Innovation Ventures. Oversees startup formation, strategic incubation, and deployment of both internally generated and externally sourced innovations. Guides the assessment of business opportunities, financial modeling, and strategic collaborations that drive health innovation forward. Provides oversight of deal flow and diligence reviews. Leads formation and early-stage development of institutional spinouts based on Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) intellectual property assets. Drives revenue and mission-aligned impact.Outside-In Innovation - Builds strategic relationships with startups, accelerators, and venture networks to source high-potential innovations aligned with institutional priorities. Identifies and vets external startup technologies for piloting and potential integration into CCHMC operations. Sets and oversees execution of high-level commercial strategies.Business Opportunity Evaluation - Conducts market, competitive, and financial assessments for innovation opportunities, investments, and ventures. Responsible for ad hoc market analysis to support the Portfolio team with business case development and analytics for high-value intellectual property when requested. Aligns market insights with innovation opportunities.Cross-Functional Collaboration - Leads cross-functional teams in opportunity development. Works with clinical, information services, and operational partners to scope and execute innovation deployments. Facilitates alignment across diverse stakeholder groups to ensure seamless integration of innovative solutions into existing workflows and infrastructure.Team Leadership - Directs the strategic transactions and partnerships team, fostering external relationships and internal coordination.
