Automation Tester

Job Title: Automation TesterLocation: Reston, VADuration: 12 Months – Long-Term Extensions LikelyCore Responsibilities• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases based on functional requirements and user stories• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing• Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure quality deliverables• Review requirements and provide testability feedback early in the SDLC• Participate in test planning, test case reviews, and defect triage meetings• Validate fixes and perform re-testing and regression cycles• Maintain clear and organized test documentation and reportsRequired Skills• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC• Hands-on experience in writing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)• Good knowledge of functional and non-functional testing• Understanding of API testing basics (Postman is a plus)• Experience testing web and/or mobile applications• Ability to analyze requirements and identify edge cases• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validationPreferred Qualifications• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments• Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) is a plus• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a bonus• ISTQB certification (optional but preferred)Education & Experience• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field• Typically 2–5 years of experience in manual testing (adjust based on level)EEO: Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of – Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans.
