We are always looking for the best, most qualified people to join our team.Pre-employment drug testing (EOE)Great Benefits offered!Utility MechanicUS-PA-DouglassvilleJob ID: 2026-3030Type: Regular Full-TimeCategory: MaintenanceStructures DivisionOverviewH&K Group is looking for an experienced utility mechanic to repair, maintain, and install infrascture for essential services such as water, gas and electricity.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews job order and observes and listens to equipment/infrastructure in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.Identify parts for repairs or replacement for all systems on equipment when needed.Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment, and makes adjustments.Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal.Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction and to confirm that it meets manufactures specifications.Performs diagnostics thru the use of computers.Utility maintenancePerforms other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceWritten and verbal communication skillsProblem solvingAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)Preferred Skills, Education, and ExperienceOne year of relevant utility construction experienceEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredExperienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structuresThree years of related experience and/or trainingOSHA or other relevant safety certificationsPhysical DemandsRegularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and armsRegularly talk or hearFrequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlFrequently lift and/or move up to 100 poundsVision abilities include distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentRegularly exposed to outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particlesFrequently exposed to moving mechanical partsNoise level is usually moderateH&K provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency and value.
