In this role, you will take ownership of database design and performance for mission-critical gaming systems, work closely with .NET development teams, and provide technical leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and optimization of complex database solutions using SQL Server and PostgreSQLOwn database architecture decisions for high-volume, real-time slot gaming platformsPartner with .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) development teams to define data models and integration patternsDesign and optimize stored procedures, functions, indexes, and queries for performance, scalability, and reliabilityDrive database performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability strategiesEnsure data integrity, security, auditing, and compliance with gaming regulations and standardsProvide expert-level support for production issues, including root-cause analysis and performance troubleshootingGuide and mentor junior database developers and engineersEstablish and enforce database development standards, best practices, and documentationSupport database deployments, migrations, and CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in architectural reviews and contribute to overall platform designRequirementsRequired Skills & QualificationsExtensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)Proven experience working in the Slot Gaming / iGaming domainStrong experience supporting applications built on the .NET technical stackAdvanced knowledge of database architecture, indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plansExperience designing databases for high-throughput transactional systemsStrong understanding of concurrency, locking, replication, backup, and high-availability strategiesExperience with data security, encryption, auditing, and access control in regulated environmentsAbility to translate business and game requirements into robust data modelsNice to HaveExperience with cloud-based database platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL cloud services)Knowledge of microservices-based architecturesExperience with database DevOps, automated testing, and CI/CDExposure to NoSQL, caching (e.g., Redis), or event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with regulatory reporting, responsible gaming, and compliance requirementsSoft SkillsStrong leadership and mentoring capabilitiesExcellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholdersProactive problem-solver with a performance- and reliability-first mindsetAbility to work independently and make architectural decisionsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experiencePhysical Demands/Working ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
