Senior Simulation Engineer
Simulation Engineer(Physics AI)We’re partnering with a company building physics-native intelligence systems that model and reason about the real world.Turning high-fidelity physics into systems that are faster, more accessible, and tightly integrated with modern AI.This role sits at the center of that effort. You’ll help bridge first-principles physics, numerical methods, and machine learning, turning complex physical processes into scalable, production-grade systems. What you’ll doOwn and evolve core simulation systems across fluid dynamics and thermophysical domainsTranslate real-world physical phenomena (e.g. flow, heat transfer, combustion) into robust computational modelsDesign, run, and interpret simulations — and clearly communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholdersImprove performance of numerical solvers, reducing runtime and increasing scalabilityValidate simulation outputs against experimental and real-world dataWork closely with applied researchers to integrate simulation systems into emerging AI-driven modeling approachesContribute to the development of next-generation physics-informed or hybrid AI modelsOperate in a highly iterative environment where speed, accuracy, and practicality all matterWhat we’re looking for5+ years working with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), including building and validating simulation workflowsStrong programming experience with exposure to scientific computing environmentsDeep understanding of thermofluids, heat transfer, and related physical systems (bonus for combustion or radiative modeling)Experience validating simulations against experimental or field dataFamiliarity with parallel computing (MPI, OpenMP), HPC environments, and/or GPU accelerationStrong grasp of meshing, discretization, and numerical methods for simulation accuracy and efficiencyAbility to operate independently and move quickly in ambiguous, research-heavy environmentsComfortable collaborating across engineering, research, and product teams$150,000-250,000 + equity and benefits
