Private Banking Officer
Primary PurposeThe Private Banking Officer is responsible for the development and retention of high net worth and profitable member relationships within the medical, legal, non-profit and other professional communities. Relationships include primary and core operating deposits and loans. The Private Banking Officer is also responsible for understanding the comprehensive needs and relationship dynamics of members and prospects to lead as a trusted advisor in identifying and planning other applicable products and services that generate interest and non-interest income from the bank through their partnerships with TFSG.Essential ResponsibilitiesBe proactive in business development by engaging with prospective private banking members and inviting them to join TowneBank Private Banking as their primary bank.Be deposit driven with core relationship development focus and trusted advisor competencies to understand and discover complex needs and dynamics of high-net-worth financial relationships.Focus on bringing new private banking deposit relationships to the bank to meet minimum portfolio balances and complementing TFSG sales revenue objectives quickly, and within a stated time period.Service existing portfolio in a proactive manner (identify opportunities). Retain and follow up with exquisite member service.Work closely with the entire relationship team to ensure professional service levels are met with a high sense of urgency.Share & leverage individual talents, creating a team environment and reputation that the marketplace views as superior; always protecting and operating in the spirit of our TowneBank brand.Properly maintain all relationship files, keeping them current from exceptions and updated communicationPartner with appropriate teammates and outside resources, as needed, to understand, anticipate and respond to all member needs quickly.Review, analyze and make decisions on requests from members for personal and small business credit needs.Promote TowneBank within the community by serving on boards and networking organizations within the medical, legal and professional communities.Represent the bank at sponsored community activities.Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).Other duties as assigned.Minimum Required Skills & CompetenciesHigh sense of urgency and strong decision-making abilitiesPrevious banking experienceExtensive knowledge of loan documentation and regulationsProven business development and sales skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionallyHigh degree of personal integrityGoal oriented and self-motivatedBroad knowledge of all bank products and bank affiliates with a strong ability to promote and cross-sellStrong connections to and relationships with referral sources/center of influence in the marketBuild strong and respectful team relationships; can delegate appropriately to support to create workflow and calling efficienciesDesired Skills & CompetenciesCollege degree in Business, Finance or AccountingBackground in Private Banking, Trust or related fieldRetail and commercial lending experienceLocal market experienceProficient in proper account documentation, BSA requirements, research and resolution of complex issues.Ability to listen well, is resolution driven in a positive manner and multi-task dailyProficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookPhysical RequirementsExpress or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this job.
