SOCIAL WORKER III-FOSTER CARE

Candidates in this classification have an immense impact on our community. Social workers have the ability to relieve suffering, fight for social justice and improve lives and communities. Employees in this class must have thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, practices, and their application towards complex casework, group work, and community problems. Candidates must have knowledge of the psychosocial, socioeconomic and behavioral problems along with treatment resolutions. We are also looking for candidates with bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) to join our team.DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is to provide foster care services to children who must be separated from their own parents/family when the parents/family are unable to provide adequate care or protection. This position also offers supportive and interventive services to the family with family reunification as the primary focus of foster care services.MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
