Electrical Technician II

The Electrical Technician II supports battery systems associated with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in critical facilities. This role focuses on battery installations, replacements, startups, certifications, and preventive maintenance, with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and minimal customer disruption.This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity. Core ResponsibilitiesSupport battery replacements, new installations, and preventive maintenance activitiesPerform work in live critical environments while strictly following MOPs, safety rules, and facility proceduresAssist with DC battery system maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairsWork from schematics, drawings, and verbal instructionsLearn and execute:Sealed and flooded cell battery installation/removalBattery rack and spill containment system buildsPre‑installation testing and PM data collection/reportingUse hand tools, maintenance equipment, and diagnostic instrumentsMaintain clean, organized job sitesSupport other service divisions as needed (Switchgear, HVAC, Operations, etc.)Assist in warehouse operations when requiredTechnical & Safety FocusAC/DC fundamentals and battery system theoryUse of: Digital multimeters (AC/DC), Amp clamps and flexible CTs, Alber Cellcorder battery testing equipmentBattery string configurations (series, parallel, series‑parallel)Torque specifications, torque marking, and visual inspectionsProper use of PPE, arc‑flash protection, and isolation devicesStrong emphasis on NFPA‑70E and OSHA safety complianceQualificationsHigh School DiplomaUS Citizenship requiredClean driving recordOSHA 10‑Hour Certification preferred NFPA‑70E Safety Training preferred Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)Willingness to travel and work in mission‑critical environmentsReliable attendance and strong teamwork/customer interaction skills
