Job Description:
SUMMARY Tends one or more machines that automatically coils, forms, stamps, wraps, etc. metal wire and strip following verbal or written instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Examine wire stock with a micrometer to ensure conformance to specifications. Starts machine that automatically produces metal parts forms. At the start of each changeover, checks the first piece for compliance to specifications. Measures parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, gauges and load testers per control plan. Controls and maintains production speeds. Maintains appropriate production, maintenance, tooling and quality records. Performs preventative maintenance to all equipment and is responsible for the cleanliness of the department and surrounding work area. Follows safety guidelines in the operation of equipment. Operates equipment with safety doors, switches, interlocks, blocks, light curtains, guards etc in operating condition. May perform secondary operations to parts including inspection, setting, assembly or packaging. Required to know about and apply the Quality and Environmental systems, policies, procedures and work instructions as part of normal job function.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
