This program supports critical upgrades to the U.S. National Airspace System, including navigation, communication, and weather monitoring systems.This is a fully travel-based role , supporting projects at airports and remote federal facilities across the United States.Compensation & TravelPay Rate: $25–$35/hr (based on experience & wage determination by home county)Health & Welfare (H&W): Additional rate paid for first 40 hours/weekPer Diem: Provided per GSA guidelinesTravel Expenses: Fully reimbursed (airfare, lodging, mileage, rental vehicles, meals)Overtime: 10–20% typical during deploymentsNote: Only working time (including travel time) is compensated. Rotations typically allow return home approximately every 6 weeks for about one week.ScheduleMonday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM – 4:00 PMOvertime and extended hours may be required during deploymentsKey ResponsibilitiesInstall and upgrade FAA systems including:Instrument Landing Systems (ILS)Visual landing aids (PAPI, REIL)Radar systems (ASR, ARSR)Remote communications systems (RCAG, RTR)Perform electrical and construction-related tasks:Trenching and conduit installation (PVC, duct banks)Installation of handholes, manholes, and site infrastructureEquipment installation on towers, poles, and steel structuresOperate construction equipment (bobcat, mini excavator, ditch witch attachments)Conduct testing and troubleshooting using electrical/electronic test equipmentRead and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project standardsFollow safety protocols and quality control proceduresPerform site cleanup and restoration activitiesRequired QualificationsMust be an experienced Electrician (5+ years) No license required.Experience with:Underground and above-ground electrical installationsIndustrial, infrastructure, or construction environmentsCivil work elements (trenching, conduit, concrete, etc.)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsAbility to operate or work around heavy equipmentWillingness and ability to travel 100% nationwideAdditional RequirementsU.S. Citizenship (required)Ability to pass:Federal background checkDrug screeningMotor vehicle record checkDOT physical requirementsPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 certificationExperience with FAA, aviation, or airfield systemsStrong customer interaction and communication skillsBasic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office for reporting)About the ProgramThis position supports a long‐term FAA initiative delivering modernization across all U.S. aviation regions.
