Lead Quality Engineer

This role blends hands-on Quality Control leadership with strategic Quality Management System engineering, supporting the production of high‐precision ceramic components for next‐generation aerospace engines. You will lead QC teams, uphold AS9100 standards, and drive continuous improvement across two manufacturing sites. Client Details Our client is a rapidly scaling advanced manufacturing company developing specialized components for highly regulated, high‐performance applications. Description Lead front‐line QC operations across Burlington and Cleveland, ensuring consistent execution, shift coverage, and on‐time inspections. Monitor daily workloads, redistribute resources across sites, and assist with inspections when needed to keep production flowing smoothly. Own key QC metrics including yield, defects, rework, and turnaround time-using data to inform priorities and drive improvement. Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to set QC priorities aligned with shipping targets and operational goals. Establish clear expectations for QC technicians, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement corrective or coaching measures. Develop and maintain structured Level 1-3 QC technician qualifications-including training, skills assessments, and progression paths. Standardize inspection methods and documentation to ensure consistent decision-making across both sites. Communicate inspection findings, nonconformances, and process issues to engineering, production, and repair teams. Support and improve the AS9100-aligned QMS, including internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Contribute to change management, new product introduction, and process validation from a QMS perspective. Provide QMS training and guidance across departments and levels. Travel occasionally between Burlington and Cleveland as needed. Profile Must meet U.S. Person requirements under export control regulations. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace Engineering, or similar-or equivalent hands-on experience. 3-5+ years of experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, ceramics, or other highly regulated production environments. Proven leadership experience within QC, inspection, or manufacturing; multi‐site oversight experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection, NDT methods, and precision measurement tools. Skilled in GD&T, CAD platforms, and comfortable working within PLM/ECO systems. Fluent in creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation. Data-driven mindset with the ability to identify trends and resolve systemic issues. Certifications such as CQE or CQA are helpful but not required. Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict‐resolution abilities. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working in PPE, and navigating lab/production environments.
