Position OverviewThe Director is a senior member of BMO’s Community Capital Solutions team, which invests the Bank’s balance sheet in conventional equity real estate funds managed by sponsor and developer clients, along with select direct real estate equity investments across the United States. The Director leads day‑to‑day value creation on designated LP investments, drives portfolio‑level performance, and mentors junior team members while partnering closely with sponsors and internal stakeholders at BMO Commercial, BMO Capital Markets and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Governance. All investments support BMO's CRA and Public Welfare Investment objectives. The Director fosters a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy and role models BMO values and behaviors in all that they do.Asset Management (:50%)Own accountability for 25-30 conventional real estate equity fund LP investment files as the primary point person; set the agenda with partners and drive outcomes on complex situations.Coordinate execution for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and other strategic initiatives related to assigned filesTrack carrying values, exposure and oversee risk analysis required to prepare decision-ready updatesCo-lead file completion and documentationPresent investment/monitoring materials to committeesPrepare and review portfolio forecasts, dashboards and recurring performance materialsOversee quarterly reporting and valuation for portfolioSynthesize insights for BMO senior stakeholdersWork alongside BMO Commercial, BMO Capital Markets Legal, Tax, Finance, Risk and Accounting PolicyMaintain oversight of project bank accounts and process capital callsGrowth, Investments & Other (:50%)Selectively source and diligence new Real Estate Investment Fund opportunitiesTrack the United States real estate market across the Affordable Multifamily Residential asset classResponsible for preparing select investment recommendations to the Investment CommitteeBroader work or accountabilities may be assigned as neededQualifications:10+ years in real estate investing/finance rolesBusiness degree (BCom/MBA); CFA/AACI/CPAExperience with leading and mentoring Analysts/Associates, demonstrating a “player‑coach” mentalityDemonstrates the ability to drive a positive work-place cultureExceptional Excel/PPT; able to step in and perform individual analysis when requiredHigh detail orientation and organizational excellenceUse strong interpersonal skillset to form positive internal and external working relationshipsAbility to work both independently and as a team memberStrong communication and modeling review capabilityExcellent leadership skillsAdoption of AI tools for the workplaceTime management skills: In-depthVerbal & written communication skills: In-depthCollaboration & team skills: In-depthAnalytical and problem-solving skills: In-depthInfluence skills: In-depthData driven decision making: In-depthCompensation Salary Range: USD $200,000 - 240,000 - 275,000(Actual Compensation Depends On Skills, Experience, Education, And Qualifications.)Salary:Pay Type:SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
