Inventory Picker
Job Summary
The Inventory Picker is responsible for accurately locating, selecting, and preparing IT assets and related materials for internal processing, refurbishment, resale, or outbound shipment. This role supports inventory accuracy, chain-of-custody requirements, and operational efficiency within an IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) facility.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Pick IT assets (e.g., laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, peripherals) from designated storage locations based on pick lists or system instructions
Verify asset information including part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and condition prior to movement
Maintain strict chain-of-custody and security procedures for all assets
Stage picked inventory for downstream processes such as data destruction, testing, refurbishment, resale, or shipping
Use inventory management systems (WMS/ERP) and handheld scanners to record inventory movements accurately
Identify and report discrepancies, damaged items, or mislabeled assets to the supervisor
Follow asset handling standards to prevent damage, loss, or data security risks
Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit preparation as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse and ITAD compliance standards
Comply with all safety, environmental, and data security policies (e.g., R2, e-Stewards, ISO-related procedures)
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior warehouse, inventory, or picking experience preferred but no required (IT or electronics experience a plus)
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory tracking systems
Ability to read and follow pick lists, work orders, and written procedures
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance
Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as carts or pallet jacks (forklift certification a plus)
