This role performs complex diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.Position SummaryHands-on technician in the disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of gas turbine engines, subassemblies, components, and accessories.ResponsibilitiesWork independently and with team members to disassemble, inspect, conduct minor repairs, assemble, and modify gas turbine engines, turbines, accessories, and support systems.Read and interpret work instructions and inspection manuals to determine material compliance. Record findings in project logs and submit to next department.Use calibrated measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.Adhere to detailed work instructions and procedures assigned by the supervisor and monitored by a quality inspector.Acquire personal tools and hardware to perform the work. Specialized tools provided by Sulzer.Operate instrumentation to perform pressure and flow tests.Review all phases of tasks, as specified by work instructions, perform self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.Inspect, operate, and maintain shop equipment, facilities, and support systems.Package engines for shipment to the customer.Complete any other tasks within the company to support objectives and to develop individual skills.Foster a positive working environment and relationships with colleagues.Perform all tasks at the highest level of safety awareness.Properly utilize provided PPE at all times.Properly utilize lifting and rigging fixtures and tooling.Occasional travel may be required. 1-2 weeks a year in variable weather conditions.Able to work in high noise level conditions utilizing proper PPE.Able to lift 60lbs.Able to maintain certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, etc.).This is a 1st shift hourly position; 7:30–4:00 with expectation to work significant overtime.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDUp to 3 months of hands-on jet engine or diesel mechanic experiencePreferred Qualifications1+ year experience in Diesel or Gas Turbine Engine RepairFormal training in power plant mechanics and operationWhat we offer youSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
