This will include drawing of circuits themselves after basic analysis and paper design activity using a schematic CAD tool (Cadence OrCAD or Altium) along with simulation as appropriate using tools such as SPICE or HyperLynx.Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, customer focused, and reliableGather technical data and prepare technical documents such as design verification test reports, written rework instructions, PCB placement and routing guidelines and Analysis of Alternatives documentsMaintain organized history of design artifacts utilizing a version control systemComplete assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelinesCommunicate with other engineers and may serve as a project manager to coordinate and assure project completionMentor other engineers as they work through day-to-day technical challengesAssist or lead in preparing proposal documentation and integrate into customer specificationsAssist in preparing compliance reports for REACH, RoHS, PFAS etc.Monitor for component obsolescence using Silicon Expert reports and finding suitable alternatesAssist in developing ECOs and route them for needed approvals.Requirements10+ years of experience, principal level ownership of embedded hardware development, including requirements translation, architecture definition, schematic design, and board bring up for microprocessor based platforms.Strong hands on debugging skills using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, with the ability to troubleshoot at the protocol and interface level across SPI, I2C, and UART.Proven experience taking designs from concept through release, including design for manufacturability and design for test, verification planning and execution, and clear, thorough design documentation.Established technical leadership capability, including mentoring and reviewing other engineers' work, collaborating cross functionally, partnering directly with customers, and balancing cost, schedule, and technical tradeoffs.Ability to work fully onsite in a fast paced environment, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining quality and delivery commitments.Nice to haveExperience with high speed digital interfaces and RF communications, including DDR, PCIe, and SATA, as well as Bluetooth, Wi Fi, and cellular technologies.Experience with circuit simulation and advanced lab instrumentation, including SPICE, HyperLynx, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.Background in regulated or process intensive industries such as medical devices, including exposure to compliance documentation, ECO processes, and component lifecycle or obsolescence management tools.Familiarity with formal project planning tools such as MS Project and experience supporting proposal development with technical input.
