Civil Project Engineer

Job Description Role Summary Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineer with experience in private site development to serve as a technical lead on civil engineering projects. This role supports project management efforts, contributes to design and analysis, and guides junior staff through all phases of project delivery from planning through construction.Key Responsibilities Lead technical execution of private site development projects under the direction of a Project ManagerPrepare engineering analyses, calculations, designs, and technical reports for assigned project elementsDesign site grading, drainage systems, and underground utilities, including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and fire protection systemsPerform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for surface water systems and pressurized/gravity networksDevelop civil construction documents, including plans, specifications, and supporting calculationsProvide construction phase support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and coordinating design updatesSupport zoning, land use approvals, and permit application processes; coordinate with local and regulatory agenciesAttend public meetings as needed to support project approvals and stakeholder engagementMentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with cross-functional project teamsRequired Qualifications Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within approximately 3 months of hireApproximately 5+ years of civil engineering experience with progressive responsibilityMinimum 4 years of experience focused on private site development projectsProficiency in AutoCAD for land development design; familiarity with Civil 3D preferredWorking knowledge of standard office and engineering software (e.g., Microsoft Office)Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skillsPreferred Qualifications Experience working within a consulting engineering environmentExposure to multidisciplinary project coordinationHybrid work arrangement with flexibility between office and remote workMultiple office locations available within the region
