Capitol Legal ServicesWe primarily represent cities and counties in civil litigation. A large portion of this work is representing the men and women of the law enforcement community. We are passionate and proud of the work we do and are looking to add another attorney to the team so that we can do even more of it.Role DescriptionThis is a flexible situation depending on the applicant and the skills they come with. We handle litigation through trial and our own appeals in both state and federal courts. The role of an attorney will be commensurate with their skills with the idea being that they would be leading their own cases when able to do so. The attorneys are allowed to work the schedule and hours that fit their life. We are also setup for remote and hybrid work.QualificationsValid license to practice law in Oregon (or ability to get one)Excellent research and writingAbility to work independently or with a teamMinimum of 2-3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or other legal environment preferredCompensationAttorneys are compensated per billed hour. The amount per hour is set based on the skills/experience of the attorney. For more experienced attorneys and/or those coming with some of their own book of business, rates would be negotiable based on the relevant experience and their book of business.The idea of being paid per billed hour is to allow the attorney to set the work/life balance that fits their life and the ability to change that pace as desired.Other benefits include a 401(k) with 4% employee match, subsidized health insurance, and other employee incentives.
