This position is a hybrid position and will require at least one day/week in the office. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides a one-time remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing: Gathering, assembling, and review ing information submitted by applicants and recipients regarding financial and non-financial criteria relevant to the initial and continuing eligibility for SNAP, categorical assistance, and/or medical assistance. Inform ing applicants/recipients of the relevant requirements and benefits of programs for which they may have eligibility; assists applicants with completing forms; secures documents; notifies applicants of appeal rights and procedures in response to notices generated by the computer. Approv ing or denying applicants based upon review of case information promptly in accordance with state statutes. Enter ing and updating case/client information to maintain computer database records. Maintain ing assigned caseload under direct supervision and case review. Review ing monthly change reports for ongoing eligibility and re-determining eligibility as required by applicable programs. Calculat ing income and resources based on program rules and regulations. Provid ing referrals for related resources and services to collateral departments and agencies as appropriate. Manage multiple projects at once. Have predictable, reliable attendance. Take initiative, think independently, and have good judgment. Work well with a range of personalities and people from various backgrounds. Be able to learn new systems and have confidence using technology. Recognize when to seek input/guidance and when to proceed independently. Have strong verbal and written communication skills. QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required for a Community Support Specialist I will be eliminated from the process.Candidates will receive the standard starting rate of $24.1868, unless they have one year or more of prior experience as a Community Support Specialist in another Colorado county.Community Support Specialist I - $24.1868/hr - $29.0241/hr One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities within an office or customer service environment required. High school diploma or GED required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred. Community Support Specialist II - $26.6055/hr - $31.9266/hr One (1) year of experience as a Community Support Specialist I, or in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
