In this role, you’ll support Associate and Senior Engineers on a variety of civil engineering tasks, contributing at every phase — from concept development and preliminary engineering to final design and construction support. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, grow your skills, and make a real difference — all while exercising independent judgment in a collaborative and supportive environment. Essential Functions:·        Determine alignment and grade of highways, roadways, utilities, and other capital improvement facilities·        Analyze data and balance earthwork and embankment needs·        Assist in the design of active transportation, streetscape and transit facilities·        Conduct hydraulic/hydrological analyses and determine design for storm drain and sewer mains·        Determine right-of-way needs·        Assist in the preparation of plans, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and specifications, for the construction or maintenance of capital improvement facilities·        Inspect the construction of such facilities and judge whether they meet plan and specification requirementsOther Duties & Responsibilities:·        Coordinate with internal/external disciplines·        Perform quality control for reports/projects·        Prepare exhibits and figures for meetings, reports, and proposalsMinimum Requirements:·        Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field·        Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire·        CA driver’s licensePreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:·        Experience in designing a variety of roadway and capital improvement project types·        Experience in Microsoft Office applications, CADD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, ArcGIS, Hydrologic software, and other design software·        Understanding and ability to assist the design team with delivering PS&E bid packages for capital improvement projects·        Understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, local agency standards, APWA standards (“Greenbook”), and Caltrans design standards, specifications, and practices Physical Requirements:·        Will sit, stand, or walk for the entire duration of a workday·        Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a regular basis·        Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus·        Work mostly indoors; Occasionally work outdoors·        Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space·        Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat·        Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments·        Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane·        Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sitesFLSA Status:            Full-Time ExemptCompensation:        Competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience Benefits:         Competitive pay with a bonus program      Exceptional medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs      401(k) Profit Sharing Plan with a generous company match       Participation in Employee Stock Ownership Plan       Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays      Life, accidental death, and long-term disability insurance      Wellness Program      Professional development opportunities Introductory/Probationary Period: At-Will EmploymentLocation:                 San Diego, CASchedule:                Full-time; Monday to FridayEqual Opportunity Employer Statement:Dokken Engineering is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination or harassment.
