Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job DescriptionKaempf & Harris, a division of R.W. Warner, Inc., is hiring experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics. Sheet Metal Mechanics will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for facility maintenance and installation programs.Candidates would have the ability to read and interpret drawings and install duct and duct accessories. They would work with other mechanics, and helpers, and assist in directing them, in a manner that ensures materials are installed properly, and in keeping with the schedule, while maintaining a high level of productivity, and following all safety, and quality standards.Kaempf and Harris has been serving Frederick and the surrounding area for over 70 years. We are family owned, and many of our employees spend their entire career at Kaempf and Harris. Our projects are typically located within 40 miles of Frederick Md.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesConsults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.Maintains clean and orderly work space.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.Ability to follow directions.Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.Must be dependable.Must have reliable transportation.Work EnvironmentShop fabrication and/or field installation work.Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and job site conditions.May require overtime, evenings, or weekends based on project needs.BenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance Whole Life Insurance with Long Term Care Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $24 - $30 per hour (Salary will be determined based on experience)R.W.
