Lead Principal UX Researcher

(Contract - 6 Months | Hybrid)Location: NYC - Hybrid (Monday-Thursday onsite)We are seeking a UX Researcher to support a banking platform transformation initiative. This role focuses on practical, delivery-driven research to understand user behavior, identify friction points, and improve overall user experience during platform changes.Key responsibilities:Plan and conduct qualitative research (interviews, usability testing, journey validation)Evaluate user flows to identify usability and comprehension gapsPartner with UX, product, marketing, and technology teams on research prioritiesSynthesize findings into clear, actionable insightsCreate research deliverables (reports, journey insights, recommendations)Analyze user sentiment, trust, and behavior during platform transitionsQualifications:7+ years of UX or design research experienceStrong qualitative research and facilitation skillsExperience with complex, transactional, or high-impact user experiencesAbility to work in fast-paced, delivery-focused environmentsStrong storytelling and stakeholder communication skillsNice to have:Experience in banking, fintech, or enterprise environmentsExperience with third-party or white-labeled platformsFamiliarity with platform migrations or transformation initiativesBackground in service design or systems-level research
