Division Controller
CooperDouglas has partnered with a growing manufacturing company in Long Island on a search for a Division Controller to oversee one of their business units. This individual will lead the accounting and finance function for the division and play a key role in rebuilding and improving the overall finance organization.The ideal candidate is someone comfortable stepping into an evolving environment, improving processes, resolving accounting challenges, and building structure within a smaller manufacturing operation.This role is fully on-site and will initially operate with a lean team structure. The Controller will have significant visibility and autonomy within the division.Responsibilities:Lead all accounting and finance activities for the divisionOwn month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger oversightImprove accounting processes, controls, and overall financial structurePartner with leadership on operational and financial improvementsAssist with team restructuring and future hiring within the accounting functionManage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysisOversee QuickBooks environment and help drive process improvementsSupport operational and accounting improvement initiativesQualifications:BIG 4 background preferred, ideally coming out of Manager or Senior Manager level, or strong Mid-Tier public accounting experienceManufacturing industry experience requiredMust have private industry/manufacturing experience in addition to public accounting Comfortable operating independently within a smaller division environmentHands-on mentality with willingness to roll up sleevesExperience working in high-growth, transitional, or evolving environments is highly preferredCPA requiredThis is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure, creating process improvements, and having direct impact within a growing manufacturing business.
