CNC OperatorThis role supports in-house metal fabrication for industrial manufacturing by operating a CNC shear press and related fabrication equipment to cut, drill, deburr, and form raw sheet metal to precise specifications. You will work from blueprints and fabrication drawings, set up and run CNC-controlled machinery, and ensure high-quality, accurate parts in a fast-paced production environment.ResponsibilitiesOperate a CNC shear, punch and brake press.Set up and adjust shear press operations, including tooling selection, back gauge settings, and material alignment to ensure accurate cuts.Perform shearing, drilling, and deburring of sheet metal parts to meet dimensional and quality requirements.Load, change, and verify CNC files and programs to support different parts and production runs.Change dies and tooling as required for each job to accommodate varying materials, thicknesses, and part designs.Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists to determine correct dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication steps.Inspect finished parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, and proper fit, making adjustments as needed to maintain standards.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of materials and tooling.Follow all safety and quality standards, including safe machine operation and adherence to shop procedures.Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow, troubleshoot fabrication issues, and support production goals.Work independently to manage assigned tasks, prioritize jobs, and complete work within scheduled timeframes.Essential SkillsHands-on metal fabrication experience in a production or shop environment.Proven shearing experience, preferably with CNC shear presses.Experience drilling and deburring sheet metal parts.Experience cutting raw sheet metal to exact specifications and tolerances.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists.Basic CNC knowledge, including changing and loading CNC files and programs.Ability to change dies and tooling safely and efficiently.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine functions and fabrication processes.High attention to detail to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a fabrication team.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience operating CNC machines such as lathes and mills.Exposure to machining processes including turning and milling.CNC programming experience for fabrication equipment.Experience setting up CNC machines, including shear presses, punch presses, and press brakes.Comfort working with multiple types of fabrication equipment in a job-shop or manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?You will work with a variety of modern CNC fabrication equipment and gain exposure to the full sheet metal process, from cutting and punching to bending and finishing. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will work around CNC shear presses, punch presses, press brakes, and other metalworking equipment in an industrial setting, with a strong emphasis on safety practices, organized work areas, and proper material handling.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longwood, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
