Assembly SupervisorPosition SummaryThe Assembly/Paint Supervisor provides leadership, technical guidance, and daily support to assembly and paint operations. This role is responsible for ensuring production runs efficiently, shipment deadlines are met, and quality and safety standards are maintained. This is a hands-on, floor-focused leadership position requiring strong problem-solving ability and team engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with the General Assembly Manager to establish priorities and meet customer delivery timelines Lead day-to-day execution of assembly and paint operations, ensuring workflow continuity and minimal downtime Assign work based on team skillsets and ensure adherence to established assembly methods and procedures Troubleshoot production issues in real time, including BOM vs drawing discrepancies, documentation gaps, and shop floor disruptions Ensure accuracy and completion of work orders and labor reporting Inspect completed products prior to shipment to ensure quality standards are met Support continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and providing feedback on documentation and workflows Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment Participate in performance evaluations and support employee development Team & StructureReports to: General Assembly Manager Team: Approximately 12–15 employees Shift: 1st shift Scope: Assembly and paint operations (Cabinet, Dust Collector, Pressure Vessel, Rooms, Sub-Assembly areas) QualificationsMinimum of a 2-year technical degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (flexible based on experience) 3+ years of experience as a supervisor or technical lead in an electro-mechanical assembly environment Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools and equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic electrical schematics Experience with CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor or similar is preferred Core CompetenciesStrong shop floor problem-solving ability with a practical, common-sense approach Effective leadership skills with the ability to engage, coach, and develop hourly teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence Ability to manage conflict, maintain morale, and foster a positive team environment Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep production on track
