Main duties include helping patients perform exercises or treatment plans. Responsible for recording a patient’s health progress and collecting medical history or personal information. Occupational Therapy Assistants treat patients with therapeutic and self-care activities. Duties include monitoring a patient’s progress to ensure successful completion of treatment. Encouraging the patient during their recovery process is essential. Assist patients in improving their quality of life by finding solutions to their challenges. Support injured individuals in enhancing their motor skills to re-enter the workforce. Teach patients with disabilities to foster independence. Update patient records for the Occupational Therapist. Maintain the office, treatment room, and equipment in good condition. Instruct patients, family members, or caregivers in skills and techniques that aid in the treatment program.
