KDM offers a competitive salary and benefits package, a people-first work environment, and a hybrid work schedule.We’re seeking a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of site civil engineering experience, who is passionate about solving complex engineering problems and creating high-quality designs, reports, and studies that meet the needs of our clients. A PE license and experience in the utility or transportation industry are preferred.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to a project team consisting of professional engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of all facets of civil engineeringWork on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of civil engineering-related issuesCreate civil designs from preliminary to as-built stagesProduce civil engineering plans, surveys, data and information, construction documents, and related reports in a clear and concise manner to meet client specificationsAct as a team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of civil engineering workPrepare, review, and/or approve proposals, contracts, or cost estimatesNegotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clientsPerform and/or oversee designs for underground and overhead powers installationsLead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budgetCoordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirementsInteract with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendationsResearch available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for the execution of required project designsDesign stage tickets and information retrieval of utility atlas maps and coordination with survey field staff Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparationDirect the work of drafting and designer support staff to complete projectsWork directly with clients, KDM staff, and consultantsConduct site walkdowns and work directly with construction contractorsQualifications & RequirementsBS in Civil Engineering or other accredited Engineering degree5+ years of experienceExperience Or Knowledge OfSurveyingConstruction and design feasibilityUtilities infrastructureLand development, transportation, and water/drainagePower distributionExperience and proficiency in AutoCad Civil3DUnderstanding of and experience in applying regulatory agency laws, ordinances and regulations for municipality, county, state, and federal agencies permitting submittalsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and within a team to efficiently complete tasks and assignments Time management and organization skills to manage multiple projects and tasks with ability to meet deadlines and within budgetAdhering to quality standards and company procedures with high focus on accuracy and quality of workAdditional RequirementsMust be willing to comply with all pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification and background screeningMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S.Why Choose KDMEstablished in 2012 on a promise to alter the face of engineering, KDM Engineering has built a reputation of excellence in providing outstanding technical services, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality assurance, and offering a truly inclusive work environment.Our clients and partners in the public and private sectors consistently recognize KDM for our responsiveness to their needs, budgets, and schedules.
