Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled PRN Dietitian / Dietitian Technician to join our skilled nursing team. This role offers an opportunity to provide vital nutritional care across various patient populations, including those in acute care, long-term care, and geriatrics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dietetics and nutrition, with the ability to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and deliver personalized nutritional interventions. This position emphasizes flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through expert dietary management.
Responsibilities:
Conduct nutritional assessments and MDS Section K documentation
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans
Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings
Complete weight reviews, wound nutrition assessments, and nutrition risk evaluations
Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff as needed
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
Assist with menu review and quality assurance tasks
Provide coverage during staff vacations, leave, or high-volume needs
Requirements
For Registered Dietitian (RD):
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
Active RD credential through CDR
Current state licensure (if applicable)
For Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) or Nutrition Technician:
Associate degree in Dietetics or related field
Active DTR credential preferred (or equivalent experience in long-term care)
Both roles:
Prior long-term care or clinical experience preferred
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
