In support of their needs, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer 3.Job Description:Job Title: Software Development Engineer 3Job Type: Contract Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA Work Schedule: OnsitePay Rate: $88 on W2Description:Primary Function of Position:The engineer in this position will play an important role on the vision automation, test and calibration software engineering team to enable the manufacturing of vision systems for surgical robots. The position will be responsible for the design, development, release, deployment, documentation, and sustaining of software and algorithms for test and calibration of the vision systems of multiport da Vinci systems. The position will require close collaboration with product development teams, systems analysts, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers to build a coherent test and calibration strategy and develop software to implement the same.Roles and Responsibilities:This role requires but is not limited to:Design, develop, release, deploy, and document software applications for the test and calibration of vision systems for multiport da Vinci robotic systemsIntegrate and implement illumination measurement systems and closely related algorithms for test and calibration of vision systemsWork closely with system/embedded software team to create and maintain new APIs to support test and calibrationBuilds and maintain software infrastructures for rapid development of test and calibration fixturesUnderstand each new product’s operation and control, and develop the means to ensure their integrity in volume productionDesign, document, and qualify software for use in manufacturing new vision systemsFollow good software development practicesWork independently to overcome roadblocks with minimum guidanceTake ownership of manufacturing software and work with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completionSupport existing production softwareSkill/Job Requirements:Strong programming skill and experience with C#, or Python, or C/C++Understanding of OOA/OOD/OOP/Design PatternsPassionate about technologies and love programmingAble to map, develop, and test projects from inception to launchA track record for executing and delivering on projectsMotivated to continually improve best practicesAdaptable to dynamic requirementsEnjoy the thrill of tackling large complex problemsExcellent ability to communicate complex concepts to engineersDetail oriented team playerResourceful problem-solving machineFoster strong sense of team with peers through solicitation of feedback and constructive contribution to review sessionsAbility to travel nationally and internationally. Travel requirements will normally be less than 10%Preferred Skills:Knowledge and experience with MATLAB is a plusStrong analytical, time management, interpersonal, listening and communication skills.Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated engineering environmentStrong industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production quality systemsFully understand Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Experience with photometric, radiometric measurement fundamentals a plusMedical device industry experience is a plus.Familiarity with regulated Quality Systems, especially medical device regulations is a plus.Education/Experience:Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Software Engineering and Computer Science preferred)Minimum 3+ years of software development experience (higher degree can offset years of experience)About Maxonic:Since 2002 Maxonic has been at the forefront of connecting candidate strengths to client challenges.
