Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Merchandiser. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products are well-stocked, visually appealing, and align with our high standards. You will play a key role in providing excellent customer service while maintaining inventory control and merchandising standards in the Central Valley Area.
Responsibilities:
To increase customer sales, margins, and profits through effective merchandising and handling of Melissa’s products.
Maintain a professional image that supports our customers and Melissa’s.
Meet with corporate procurement staff weekly to review products and programs.
Provide solution-based options to increase sales and profitability.
Build merchandising displays and concepts.
Review inventory in the produce cooler, unload products, and place them on the pre-defined product display.
Good analytical skills for each account by customer and category, weekly.
Identify additional points of entry for Melissa’s products to enhance overall sales and profitability.
Analyze customer assortment, mix, ethnic diversity, and overall merchandising strategy.
Convey timely feedback to Melissa’s business teams, defining opportunities for Melissa’s growth.
Effective communicator, as our Merchandisers will need to accurately convey customer needs and business plans to our sales, marketing, and procurement teams. Share success stories and innovative ideas, as well as offer solutions to other team members throughout the entire organization.
Team player, flexible, and willing to play different roles within the team
Collaborate with in-house teams, including Sales, Procurement, Marketing, and social media, to solve problems, share new ideas, and effectively deliver increased value to the customer.
Weekly review of accounts with the sales team to determine if we are on target.
Manage customer service needs, including marketing requests, credits, rejections, and short-pay invoices.
Skills & Requirements:
Working knowledge of computers & software as utilized in the sales environment.
MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Windows, and Dropbox operating systems.
Working knowledge of iPhone and iPad email systems
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
Ability to forecast customer needs.
Work within a team environment and/or complete tasks independently.
Learn new skills and tasks as needed.
Compile information into finished reports.
Demonstrate strong Product Knowledge and Merchandising skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per hour
