Technician, Automotive BuildTechnician, Automotive Build Carlsbad, California | Engineering | Full-timeAbout the roleWe’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Automotive Build Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll be integral to the prototyping, assembly, and development of cutting-edge automotive systems and vehicles. You’ll work closely with engineers and fellow technicians to bring high-performance concepts and pre-production builds to life.What you'll doAssemble prototype and low-volume production vehicles according to engineering specificationsInstall and test mechanical, electrical, and structural componentsTroubleshoot issues across chassis, powertrain, electrical, and body systemsCollaborate with engineering teams to support design iterations and modificationsOperate diagnostic and calibration tools to validate system performanceMaintain clear documentation and contribute to build process improvementsEnsure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout all stages of buildQualificationsProficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentFamiliarity with vehicle subsystems including suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and electrical systemsAbility to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and CAD printsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsValid driver’s license and clean driving record[Optional:] Automotive Technician Certification (e.g., ASE)Preferred QualificationsExperience working with electric vehicles or advanced mobility platformsTIG/MIG welding and fabrication skills welcomedKnowledge of CAN bus systems and diagnostic softwareFamiliarity with vehicle telemetry systems or data acquisition toolsTeam StructureIndividual contributor; collaborate with other teams and individuals, as necessaryRequired Experience3+ years of experience in automotive assembly, fabrication, or prototypingEducational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentSalary + BenefitsMarket competitive compensation packageStock option grantsFully funded benefits package for employee + dependentsGenerous Flexible Time Away policy
