This position is responsible for reviewing, editing, formatting, and proofreading legal decisions, orders, and other written materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established legal writing standards.The ideal candidate will possess exceptional editing skills, strong attention to detail, and experience working with complex legal, technical, or published documents.ResponsibilitiesEdit, proofread, and format legal decisions, orders, and related documents.Correct grammar, punctuation, syntax, spelling, and word usage.Ensure consistency with organizational style guides and legal writing standards.Review legal citations and references for compliance with The Bluebook.Verify information using legal research databases and source materials.Review draft decisions for completeness, accuracy, and proper formatting.Collaborate with attorneys, judges, and administrative staff.Assist with special projects and other legal editing assignments as needed.Work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.QualificationsBachelor's degree required.3+ years of professional writing, editing, technical writing, legal editing, or related experience.Strong proofreading and copyediting skills with exceptional attention to detail.Experience reviewing complex written materials for publication or official use.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong written communication and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.JD, LLM, Paralegal Certificate, Editing Certificate, or other relevant credential.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a legal, administrative, government, publishing, or media environment.Familiarity with The Bluebook legal citation standards.Experience using Westlaw or other legal research databases.Experience using or learning WordPerfect.NRI is an equal opportunity employer.
