This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both field and office survey teams while ensuring high-quality project delivery, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.This position offers long-term growth opportunities and the chance to work on complex and high-impact projects.Required QualificationsMinimum 10 years of land surveying experience.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days.Strong experience managing survey teams and department operations.Ability to lead staff, make independent decisions, and manage multiple priorities.Proficiency with: Microsoft WordMicrosoft ExcelCivil 3DSurvey field and office equipment/softwareStrong understanding of survey procedures, survey control, construction staking, and jobsite safety.Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily operations of the survey department and oversee field and office staff.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, developers, agencies, and internal teams.Implement departmental business strategies and operational goals.Prepare and review proposals, contracts, budgets, and project financials.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local land surveying laws, regulations, and procedures.Oversee survey control, boundary surveys, construction staking, and topographic surveys.Review calculations, coordinate geometry, CAD work, and survey data for accuracy and quality control.Mentor and support survey staff through training and technical guidance.Ensure field crews complete daily reports, timesheets, cut sheets, and project documentation accurately.Maintain quality assurance procedures for construction layout and survey calculations.Support implementation and upgrades of survey equipment and software.Preferred SkillsStrong project management and organizational abilities.Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work collaboratively across departments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Employment TypeFull-TimeLocationSan Diego, California
